Norco GRP have made all of the carbon fibre mouldings that make up Torpedalo boat, and then bonded them together to form the boat itself.. Working for many weeks in the second half of 2011, Norco are our principle sponsor and have been truly incredible.

Curvature are our major machining supplier, who cutting a male pattern mould tool of the top deck of the boat. On top of this, they machined the mould tool for the stern cap. These are the tools that Norco used to make the boat sections upper and rear boat sections.

MonsterCAM is Curvature Group’s sister company, and followed their lead by machining the main hull mould tool. This tool is eight metres long, over two metres wide and over a metre tall, so it was no small piece of work! Norco will used this tool to make the female mould for the main hull.

The considerable quantity of machinable tooling foam for the construction of the master mould tools to build the Torpedalo.

Cycle Show, this year celebrating its tenth year as the UK’s leading cycling exhibition,  supported the project by providing a massive exhibition space for the boat at the 2011 event.
